Post-Doc news

Our group welcomes Jordi Fortuny as a new post-doc, beginning December 1, 2012. Jordi received a 2-year Beatriu de Pinos fellowship from the Catalan government. We also congratulate Silvia Martinez Ferreiro for receiving a Beatriu de Pinos fellowship, which will allow her to work at the University of Groningen before coming back to join our group.

Talk - Rosselló, Alba & Borrega

On November 9, Joana Rosselló (UB), Celia Alba (UPF) & Oriol Borrega (UB), will give a talk at UAB on the following topic: "Does iconicity override duality of patterning in sign languages? Issues from a new sign language". You can see more details about the place and the time of the talk here.

On Monday, Oct 29th, Cedric Boeckx will give the second BIB tutorial for this semester. The topic will be how to prepare abstracts for conferences and articles for journals. The meeting place will be the Sala de Professors, 5th floor, Edifici Josep Carner, UB. See you all at 18.00.

Upcoming BIB tutorials

BIB is pleased to announce the beginning of its activities for the new semester. On Monday 22/10, from 18.00 to 20.00, Cedric Boeckx will give two tutorials on how to deliver good presentations and how to prepare abstracts for conferences. The meeting place will be the Sala de Becaris, 5th floor, Edifici Josep Carner, UB.

We congratulate Cedric Boeckx and Txuss Martin on winning the II Joan Solà International Prize in Catalan Philology (this year, dedicated to Syntax) for work on the syntax of Catalan dative clitics. You can find out more about it here.
